GNU/Linux gaming keeps on getting better and a recent announcement from developer Double Fine has caused much excitement. The remake of Grim Fandango is coming to Linux, alongside the console exclusive Playstation 4 and Vita versions as well as Windows and Mac!

Double Fine initially made the announcement on Twitter, saying:

Reap your heart out! We're pleased to announce Grim Fandango will also be available on PC, Mac, and Linux alongside PlayStation 4 and Vita!

We can also confirm that the releases, including Linux, are all set to be simultaneous. In an email to Double Fine Adventure Backers (of which yours truly is one), Double Fine said:

And that’s not all, folks! All versions will be launching simultaneously, so everyone can play on day one and not have to worry about those spoilers you’ve been successfully avoiding for the past fifteen years. (Pro-tip: stay off Twitter.)

A release date for the Grim Fandango Remake hasn't yet been announced, but nevertheless the announcement is exciting and much anticipated.

Has this announcement got you excited? Did you too enjoy Grim Fandango back in the day? Let us know in the comments!
