GNOME 3.24 'Portland' Released

A bit over a month following the beta release of GNOME 3.23.91, the GNOME project has now released the latest version of the GNOME desktop, now at version 3.24, codenamed Portland.
Some of the new features and fixes include:
- Calendar: A new week view, plus allowing Drag & Drop events to reschedule them
- Maps: Experimental support for Public Transport Routing
- Photos: Improved thumbnail grid and improved editing
- Web: Address bar is always visible, new popover menus, adding EasyTracking privacy protection by default and built-in support for DuckDuckGo hashbangs
- A new Recipes application (for the cooks out there)
- Updated Icon Set: Web has a new icon, as well as Files (Nautilus) which now has a distinctive blue colour to its icon
- Night Light, a new Redshift-like functionality built-in to GNOME itself (works on Wayland and X11)
- Refined notification interface
- And much more

Ubuntu GNOME 17.04 will be shipping GNOME 3.24 when it is released next month. In the meantime, the daily beta builds of Ubuntu GNOME are already running the latest GNOME development builds and should just about be at the GNOME 3.24 stable stage, even if the rest of the distribution isn't technically at the official stable stage yet. I've personally been running the beta build of Ubuntu GNOME on my laptop as I mentioned in my look at Ubuntu GNOME 17.01 preview and it has been generally quite stable and trouble-free.
Rolling, cutting-edge type distributions such as Arch Linux and OpenSUSE Tumbleweed should also be shipping GNOME 3.24 through their repositories soon, though may be initially hidden in the "testing" repo areas.
